Landmannalaugar Hut and Campsite

Landmannalaugar Huts ITA, is a true gem for hikers and nature lovers alike. Originally built in 1951 by the Iceland Touring Association, the present hut was constructed in 1969 and is situated about 600 meters above sea level on the edge of the mesmerizing Laugahraun lava field, surrounded by hot springs that create an incredible natural brook, perfect for bathing. The cozy dwelling hut, which is heated throughout the year, features a spacious entrance, a large sleeping hall, a well-equipped kitchen, the warden's quarters, and a storage room on the ground floor. Upstairs, you'll find three large sleeping rooms and one smaller room. Gas is used for cooking, and all the necessary appliances are in the kitchen. There's a large house outside with WC and showers, and the camping site is situated to the northeast of the houses. Landmannalaugar is an ideal starting or ending point for the hiking trail to or from Thorsmork. Hikers can also explore the breathtaking hiking trails of various lengths, all around the hut. Don't forget to take in the mesmerizing views while you're here! The ITA Landmannalaugar hut is open from 15th June to 15th September, and the cost per adult with a sleeping bag is Ikr. 10.200.00, while children aged 7-15 get a 50% discount.
