The Vaglaskógur campsite offers a unique camping experience with five different areas to choose from. The Flatargerði area offers accessible showers and toilets for disabled campers. In addition to the stunning natural beauty of the Vaglaskógur forest, the campsite offers a range of amenities including a playground, walking paths, and a golf course. Electricity is available in Stórarjóðri and Hróarsstaðanesi areas, but not in Brúarlundur, the northernmost area. The service houses are well-maintained and include toilets, warm water, and showers. Recycling is encouraged at the campsite to minimize waste. To get to Vaglaskógur, take highway no 1 from Akureyri towards the east and drive through the Vaðlaheiðargöng tunnel. Then, take road no 833 into the valley Fnjóskárdalur for about 5 km until you reach Vaglaskógur. Don't miss the opportunity to explore one of the most beautiful forests in Iceland and enjoy a memorable camping experience at Vaglaskógur campsite.‍
