Ferðafélag Íslands operates a small one-room mountain hut near Mt. Einifell, close to Lake Hagavatn. The hut is cozy, with bunk beds on each side and a small table in between. Additionally, a small loft above half of the hut can sleep up to four people. The maximum capacity is six to eight people, although it can get quite tight. While there is no real kitchen, the hut is heated with a wooden furnace, and glacial water is available nearby. A latrine/outhouse is conveniently located close by. The hut also has a good camping ground beside it and under Einifell. Guests are asked to take their trash with them and leave nothing behind at the lodge. The hut was built in 1942 and is located in a vegetated dell at the edge of the Langjökull glacier, at the foot of the westernmost Mt. Jarlhettur. Book the hut in advance.
