Located in the town center, the campsite is conveniently situated close to all the main shops and services. Egilsstaðir is a small town often referred to as the capital of east Iceland, with a population of around 4,600 people. There are plenty of attractions in the surrounding area, including the stunning natural beauty of Hallormsstaðaskógur forest and the charming town of Seyðisfjörður, making it an ideal base for day trips and exploration. The campsite offers an array of amenities, including electricity, toilets, showers, dish washing facilities, washing machines, dryers, and a playground for children. There are also two stoves in a sheltered area and kitchen facilities inside with stoves, a kettle, microwave, and toaster. Guests can also borrow bicycles and hairdryers. The service center at the campsite is home to the Egilsstaðastofa Visitor Center, where you can purchase maps and books, as well as coffee, tea, and ice cream. Recently renovated, the service room is now much bigger and better, with a cozy sitting area available 24/7. During the summer months, the visitor center is open every day from 07:00 to 23:00, and shorter hours during other months. The nearby swimming pool is just 1km away from the campsite, offering guests another great way to relax and unwind after a day of exploring.
