Situated approximately 600 km from Reykjavik and 75 km from Egilsstadir, these lakes are easily accessible. The Lake District, home to Kleifarvatn and Midavatn, lies near Highway 1, close to the village of Breiddalsvik.
Camping is permitted at designated areas near the lakes. However, it's important to note that no hygiene facilities are available at the campsite.
Kleifarvatn boasts medium-sized brown trout, while Mjoavatn offers the chance to catch large char and brown trout. Fishing enthusiasts can indulge in their passion all day between 1st May and 30th September, 24/7.
