Áfangagil Hut and Campsite

The Afangagil hut is nestled on the edge of Iceland's breathtaking and active volcanic region, near the renowned Hekla mountain. Conveniently located just 5 km from road nr. 26 or 3 km from the Landmannaleid road (F225), this lodge can comfortably accommodate up to 25 people in cozy bunks with mattresses. The kitchen is equipped with gas stoves and cold tap water, and there is ample storage space for luggage. Additionally, there are WC facilities in a separate house (with a water toilet). Horse riders and enthusiasts can also take advantage of facilities for their horses, including hay and hedges for sale. Nearby attractions include Landmannalaugar, Landmannahellir, Hekla, Thjorsardalur, Veidivotn, and Sprengisandu, all within a short distance of Afangagil.
