Mountain enthusiasts can hike to the top of Kaldbakur, which stands at an impressive 1,167 meters, or opt for an easier ascent up the 260-meter-high Þengilhöfði. The Laufáshnjúkur mountain, standing at 662 meters, offers a moderately challenging hike with a rewarding view of the fjord Eyjafjörður from its peak. Ártún campsite is conveniently located close to several attractions, including the museum at Laufás (2 km), the Grenivík Fishery Museum (8 km), and a horse rental at Grýtubakki (4 km).
