The Borðeyri campsite is situated in a tranquil flat area, protected from the northern winds by windbreaks, and overlooks the serene seaside. This makes it an ideal location to take a leisurely stroll along the shore during the early morning or late evening, especially when the fjord is calm and peaceful. The campsite boasts a diverse bird life, and seals often visit the area, providing guests with a unique and memorable experience. The sunset viewed from the campsite is a spectacular sight to behold. While Borðeyri is one of the smallest villages in Iceland, it has a rich history that guests can explore by taking a walk around. Historic signs and old houses, such as the Riis house from 1862, which is being restored, are still standing and offer a glimpse into the village's past. A well-maintained service house is available on-site, with two toilets and facilities for washing dishes. Hot and cold water, electricity, a large coal barbecue, two tables, garbage cans, a football field, and a playground are also available for guests' convenience. Additionally, a guesthouse is located just 100 meters away from the campsite, while a craftsman market and coffee sale are available nearby from 14:00 – 17:00 every day.
