The Sudavik camping site, which opened in 2005, is a perfect getaway for families and tourists alike. It is situated on the other side of a house used for social gatherings, with stunning views of the surrounding mountain ridges. To the west is Mount Kofra, and to the east is Mount Kambsnes. The campsite is fully serviced and well-maintained, making it an ideal choice for visitors seeking a comfortable stay. It is located in the charming "old village" of Sudavik, just a few meters from the popular Raggagarður Free Family Park.
The park is a community project, created by locals who have generously donated their time and effort to create a family-friendly space with activities for all ages. The park also has a service hut and excellent outdoor BBQ facilities. The campsite offers easy access to various walking and hiking trails, including the iconic Kofra mountain, as well as the village of Sudavik itself, where visitors can find a grocery store, bank, post office, and the famous Arctic Fox Centre. The main town of Ísafjörður is just a 15-minute drive to the west along the number 61 road, while heading east takes visitors through the breathtaking fjords of Ísafjörður Djúp to Hólmavík. The campsite provides several amenities, including a golf course, playground, showers, electricity, and a restaurant.
Open from 1 of June to 15 of September.
