The camp site sits in the midst of the stunning Geysir area, adjacent to the Geysir Bistro and the Geysir store, offering a serene retreat in breathtaking natural surroundings. Facilities: The camp site is a short stroll away from the hot springs region and Haukadalsskógur forest, as well as a range of other amenities in the area. The service house is equipped with showers, toilets, washing facilities, waste disposal, and is staffed by the camp site warden. While the upper area provides electricity, the lower region is designated for tents. The neighboring restaurant serves a selection of mouthwatering meals including fresh fish, meat, soups, pizza, salad, ice cream and much more. A coffee house and store are also nearby. Hotel Geysir features an a la carte menu, lunch and dinner. Recreation: Numerous activities are available in the area, including the Haukadalsvöllur golf course (www.geysirgolf.is), a horse rental at Kjóastaðir farm, river rafting and river jet (http://www.icelandriverjet.is/), and salmon fishing in the Tungufljóti river. The Geysir store houses an exceptional multimedia museum where you can learn about the raw power of Icelandic nature, volcanic eruptions, avalanches, earthquakes, northern lights, and ice caves. Camp site regulations: The camp site operates between May 15th and September 15th. Payment is made at the service house upon arrival, and motor vehicles are prohibited between 24:00 – 08:00. The area must be kept quiet after midnight, and guests are expected not to damage the natural environment. Waste should be disposed of in the appropriate containers, and electricity fees must be settled in advance. Breaking the rules may result in expulsion from the area. The camp site is not liable for any guest belongings, and children must be supervised by adults when using the playground.
