Ásvallalaug, consecrated on September 6, 2008, in Vallarhverfi, Hafnarfjörður, stands as one of the country's largest swimming and recreation facilities, covering about 6,000 m². The center features a 50-meter swimming pool, split with a bridge, providing both a 25m and a 50m section. Additionally, there's a lift by the 50m pool for wheelchair accessibility.
The complex boasts a diverse range of amenities, including a 17-meter children's pool (90-110cm deep), a 10-meter wading pool with accompanying toys, and a temperature of around 32°C. Inside the facility, visitors can enjoy a popular water slide, three hot tubs, and a steam bath. Outdoor offerings include two hot tubs and a delightful sunbathing area.
Ásvallalaug is a hub of varied activities, hosting traditional school swims, club swim exercises, water polo, aqua aerobics, synchronized swimming, and courses in advanced swimming techniques, making it a versatile and lively destination for aquatic enthusiasts.
