Secret Lagoon

Flúðir

GET DIRECTIONS

The Secret Lagoon, affectionately known as Gamla Laugin, stands as Iceland's oldest swimming pool, dating back to its creation in 1891 at Hverahólmi, a geothermal area near Flúðir.

What sets our destination apart is the abundance of natural warm water sourced from nearby hot springs. Whether it's Vaðmálahver, Básahver, or the lively Litli Geysir (an active geyser performing every few minutes for our guests), these sources contribute 100% of the water supply for the lagoon.

The pool's water flows continuously, undergoing a full replacement within a mere 24 hours. Maintaining a consistently warm, clean, sulfur-rich temperature of 38-40 degrees Celsius throughout the year, it provides a relaxing and healthful experience in any weather.

We've intentionally preserved the Secret Lagoon's natural, simple, and distinctive character to offer you an authentic Icelandic encounter.
