Svínavatn is located in Húnavatnshreppur in A-Húnavatnssýsla, near Blönduós.
Approximately 240 km from Reykjavík, taking route 1 and then 724, followed by a 9 km drive to the lake.
Individual day licenses can be purchased for Svínavatn.
The fishing area covers the lands of Stóra-Búrfell and Reykja in Húnavatnshreppur, as shown on the attached map. Fishing cardholders can fish without prior notification but need to have the Fishing Card on hand when the fishing warden visits. Note that paths can be sensitive in wet conditions. Access is through a blue gate, driving through a field down to the lake when fishing in the land of Stóra-Búrfell.

The lake is primarily stocked with Arctic char, and substantial catches are possible.
