Vestmannsvatn is situated about 455 km from Reykjavík, approximately 26 km south of Húsavík. The lake is adjacent to Route 845.

Fishing Area
Fishing is permitted throughout the lake. It is prohibited to fish within 100 meters of the river mouth, where Reykjadalsá flows into the lake, as well as where it flows out of the lake into Eyvindarlæk.

Fish Species and Bait
- Fish: Mainly Arctic char and trout, with occasional salmon caught each summer.
- Bait: Permitted baits include flies, spinners, and worms.
Best Fishing Times
Generally, the best fishing times are early or late in the day. However, consistent and good fishing can be experienced throughout the day.
Rules and Regulations
- Holders of the Fishing Card must register at Dalakofinn (Laugum) and present necessary identification. Leaving trash behind and off-road driving are strictly prohibited. Children under 14 years old fish for free under the supervision of cardholders. The lake and its surroundings are a nature reserve, and off-leash dogs are not allowed in the area.
