Melanes Campsite

The Melanes camping site is a brand new 2.5 acre site located in a stunning location down by the Raudasandur. Guests can take advantage of a range of services, including electricity, cooking facilities, a playground, cold water, walking paths, showers, toilets, dogs allowed, and hot water. Nestled in a beautiful green area next to the sand, the campsite offers a breathtaking view over to the cliff Látrabjarg. Guests can explore the surrounding wildlife and nature by taking advantage of the walking paths that lead in all directions from the campsite.

The campsite offers excellent facilities including toilets, showers, cooking facilities, an outdoor barbeque, table, washing machine, and play area. Seals can be found on the sand all year round, and guests can even take a daily trip to see them with Westfjords Adventures. For those looking for hiking adventures, there are many trails to choose from, including a historical hike by the river Sjounda to a deserted farm. Guests can also walk on to the Skor beacon for a spectacular view (not for those who are scared of heights), or take on the mines at Surtarbrandsnamur at mountain Stalfjall for a bigger challenge.
